Have You Forgotten Your Aadhar Card Number? You Can Easily Check It Online by Following These Steps

Aadhar, the 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Indian government, has become an essential part of everyday life. It is used for various services, including opening a bank account, getting a mobile connection, availing government schemes, and more. However, many people tend to forget their Aadhar card number over time. If you’re one of them, don’t worry! You can easily retrieve your Aadhar number online in just a few simple steps.

Here’s how you can check your Aadhar card number online:

1. Visit the Official UIDAI Website

The first step to retrieve your Aadhar number is to visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The website link is: https://uidai.gov.in

2. Click on ‘Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID’ Option

On the UIDAI homepage, look for the option “Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID”. This option will help you recover either your Aadhar number (UID) or the Enrollment ID (EID) associated with your Aadhar registration.

3. Choose the Recovery Method

Once you click on the ‘Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID’ link, you’ll be redirected to a new page. Here, you will be given two options to retrieve your Aadhar details:

  • Using Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrollment ID (EID): If you remember either your Aadhar number or Enrollment ID, you can use it to retrieve the other.
  • Using Mobile Number or Email ID: If you do not have either of the above details, you can retrieve your Aadhar number using the mobile number or email address registered with UIDAI.

4. Enter the Required Details

Depending on the option you choose, you will be asked to enter certain details:

  • For recovering through Aadhar number or Enrollment ID, you’ll need to enter your full name, email address or registered mobile number, and the security code displayed on the page.
  • For recovering using Mobile Number/Email, simply enter your registered mobile number or email ID, along with the security code.

5. Receive OTP

After entering the required details, click on the “Send OTP” button. UIDAI will send a One-Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile number or email address. Make sure to check your messages or inbox for the OTP.

6. Enter the OTP

Once you receive the OTP, enter it in the designated box on the page and click on “Verify OTP”.

7. Retrieve Your Aadhar Number

After successfully verifying the OTP, you will be shown your Aadhar number (UID) or Enrollment ID (EID), depending on the method you used. You can now view and download your Aadhar details.

8. Download E-Aadhar (Optional)

If you need a digital copy of your Aadhar card, you can also download the e-Aadhar from the same page. Click on the option “Download Aadhar” and enter your Aadhar number or Enrollment ID and OTP to access your e-Aadhar PDF.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure your mobile number or email ID is registered with UIDAI, as this is essential for recovering your Aadhar number.
  • Keep your Aadhar number safe and avoid sharing it with unauthorized persons to prevent identity theft.
  • If you face any issues or need further assistance, you can contact UIDAI’s helpdesk or visit a nearby Aadhar center.

Conclusion

Forgetting your Aadhar number is not a major issue, as UIDAI has made it incredibly easy to retrieve the information online. By following these simple steps, you can quickly recover your Aadhar number or Enrollment ID and continue accessing all services linked with your Aadhar. Stay safe and secure while handling your Aadhar details, and always ensure your personal information remains protected.
